First Successful Asylum Case
On February 14, 2018, a RILA client and her young son were granted asylum. Countless volunteers worked with this family over the course of a year and a half. By the grace of God and through the substantial effort that was poured into this case, the family can now securely and safely continue to build their lives together here in the United States. We are amazed, thankful and so excited for this mother and her son. What follows is an excerpt of the translated thank-you letter written by the client:
I would like to thank RILA for all its support from the beginning. I have no way to pay you back for my happiness and that of my family.... I am here for you in whatever way you need me to support you. You can always count on me. May God greatly bless your lives and that of your families, and I ask God to provide love and health and that your lives be prosperous... Thanks to Jason, Natalie, Michelle, Mrs. Maria, Endel, Mrs. Mariela and each one of you whose name I don’t recall. My blessings and prayers for you will always be there...This achievement is not only mine and my family’s but belongs to all of you, who did not hesitate to help me and take my case. With patience, you helped me the whole time. A thousand thanks... I love them [RILA volunteers] very much and they are part of my family.
