Listening to Trauma

With the help of our generous volunteers and financial supporters, RILA was able to serve 140 clients over the past fiscal year. We could not run our twice-monthly clinics without the 25 persons on average who volunteer at each clinic. This fiscal year we had 88 volunteers serving more than a total of 1089 hours!

And yet we recognize that this work is not always easy, especially for those who listen to our clients' difficult stories week after week. Last month, RILA invited Kristen Terry (LCSW) to speak to our volunteers about self-care. We recorded her wise words and are sharing them as a resource for those partnering with us.
